Shop Policies

My client's satisfaction is my utmost priority.  To obtain the highest quality of service and customer satisfaction to protect you and me. Please read through these shop policies before ordering a quilt.

CONSULT/
DEPOSIT

Consultation fee (deposit) is $85.00. This is paid when scheduling the consultation and placing an order for a blanket or quilt. The non-refundable deposit is required to put your quilt order in my queue (waiting list).

During a consultation, we discuss if we can do the designs indicated, fabric choices, sizing, estimated pricing, clothing inventory and all other aspects of designing a quilt. The consultation usually last 30-45 minutes for one quilt. If you have multiple quilts, please plan on 60+ minutes. Consultations happen 3 months before completion of quilt. Please look at the "Home" page for updates and Quilting/Blanket booking requests for availability.

After the consultation, I will send the client these things: Order form, Agreement, Price Estimation and timeframe .

Rescheduling Consults - This can happen and it is ok! Please notify me asap and reschedule via this website. However when a consult is rescheduled, this does delay the time frame of your quilt. When rescheduling a consult, be aware that the prices change every 6-12 months. To secure the pricing, please make a deposit (see info below) and schedule your consultation within 6 months of the deposit to ensure your pricing to stay the same.

AGREEMENT

Once consultation is complete, I will send an agreement. What is an quilt agreement? It is a document that signifies the client understands Jilly Bean Sewing's policies and procedures. The agreement states the price estimate, size of quilt, payment date and type, changes, policies, procedures and much more. Clients agreement is valid for ONE year.  Jilly Bean has the right to make changes to the agreement, as long as I notify you of the change. This could be due to the design and inventory not fitting therefor it affects the sizing.

DESIGNING

Clients receive three design mockups. I will send out the first design mockup for client approval within a few weeks after the consult (high season… maybe later than that). Please respond if there are changes to be made OR if the design “looks good.”

  • After Mockup Design completion: Slight design changes may happen due to accommodating clothing colors, designs on clothing, and stretching of fabrics.

    • The programs I use sometimes this program skews the images making it “look” like the designs fit into the blocks. This is not true to scale. There might be t-shirts where the “letters” might get cut off, if the block size is too small for the t-shirt design.

If I need to make changes due to quilt size restrictions, I will contact you asap.

SIZING

The quilt size will vary a few inches due to seams, stretching of fabric, and accommodating the design.

DISCOUNTS

10% discounts are given to repeated customers, charity quilts, and sometimes seasonal sales.

CHANGES

  • Changes made by the client after the agreement are ok. Please email me asap to update the agreement.

  • Changes made by Jilly Bean Sewing after the agreement could happen if there are issues with the quilting design process, t-shirt designs not fitting with size of quilt, ordering delays, quilting etc.

    • If there are changes to be made, Jilly Bean Sewing will contact the client as soon as possible to get approval.

    •  If the changes are NOT approved by the client, Jilly Bean Sewing will give other options on how to proceed forward.

  • Changes made by the client after the quilt has been started (whether it is part of the design, size or not), could have delays in time frame and a $40+ fee (vary according to changes) is applicable.

DOUBLE-SIDED QUILTS

Sadly, Jilly Bean Sewing does not offer double-sided quilts. I will give referrals for other quilters that do double sided quilters.

MULTIPLE QUILTS

Your first quilt deposit does not hold the space for additional quilts. Deposit, consultation, sewing and finishing of the 1st quilt must be completed before I accept the deposit or plan for any additional quilts. Additional quilts deposit will be accepted after completion of the first quilt.  There is a 10% discount for clients who have purchased more than 1+ quilts.

REFUNDS

There are no refunds on custom made items.  If there is a mistake that we communicated about and you have paid for AFTER I have completed the quilt, then I will offer you a discount.  The discount depends on the cost of the mistake.

UNCLAIMED QUILTS

Unfinished quilts or clothing items that have been in my possession for 12 months will be shipped back to the customer (shipping will be covered by non-refundable deposit).  When the customer is ready to start their quilt process again, the items can be shipped back to me (shipping to me will be paid by the customer). New pricing policies will be applied.

REFUSAL OF SERVICES

Jilly Bean Sewing has the right to refuse services at any time during the quilt making process. If the client is unprofessional or does not adhere to Jilly Bean Sewing policies, the quilt will be returned immediately via mail and return of FULL deposit.

PHOTOGRAPHS

You may share my photos as long as you credit or ask permissions.  Please message me if you have any questions.

COMMUNICATION

When communicating, EMAIL is the best method for changes and confirmations. Text and phone conversations are used for updates, short quick messages and conversations.  If you have changes in your custom made quilts, sending via email is the best form.

RETURNS

There are no returns on completed quilts. If the quilt has not been started or there are disagreements between the customer/Jilly Bean Sewing, the items of clothing will be returned to the customer.  Shipping costs of clothing items back to the client are covered by the Client’s initial deposit.
